In today’s world, democracy is being challenged while in some countries there is a growing trend towards authoritarianism. Furthermore teenagers voting in the age of 18 have not yet understood the power of their vote and the need to support democracy, nor have they linked their participation in the community issues with the defense of their individual and collective interests. Teenagers of the 21st century, absorbed in the magic power of the “screen” develop a self-centered, narcissistic, passive and indifferent attitude towards the local, national and European community. Teachers of the two vocational schools, noticing all of the above, expressed the desire to enrich the general knowledge of their students and introduce them to active citizenship. In conclusion the motivation for this project is all of the aforementioned incombination with the position of the European Commission of 2000 entitled: “Towards a European Dimension of Education and Active Participation Citizen” which underlines the imperative need for secondary education in forming and practicing active citizenship, one of the top skills for the 21st century.
We aim at promoting an understanding in depth the origins and values of democracy and cultivating the smooth transition to active e-citizenship. This way a solid foundation for a modern and united European democratic society will be laid, so as to respect cultural differences, but also integrate them into a larger and unified European culture, with respect of individual rights physically and in cyberspace. Moreover we aim at equipping teachers with digital tools related to the above objectives
Three guided virtual tours followed with guided discussion will take place through an online platform. Three face to face transnational meetings will be held, in Greece, Italy and Brussels in which cultural visits and training sessions for students and teachers will be held. Three dissemination events will be organizes. All the activities beside the three organizational meetings will be transmitted digitally through YouTube or the website of the project for wider dissemination.

The project on e-Twinning
On the 16th of March E-demos project was created on e-Twinning.Hence, teachers and students of the partners enrolled the project and proceeded with the activities.
Virtual Tour to the British Museum
A Virtual tour to the British museum in the section with monuments of the Greek and Roman civilization took part in April 2022 via Cisco webex platform.
Collecting 30 famous quotes for democracy.
In the end of May students from both the Italian and the Greek school selected 30 famous quotes for democracy and collected them on a padlet which is available in e-Twinning
1st LTT Meeting
1st Physical meeting of the project 2021-1-EL01-KA210-SCH-000031326 entitled “E-citizenship and Democracy for Europe’ S benefit” held in the period 10-14 October 2022. The training took place at EPAL Kalambakas as a host school.
